Dr. Poon graduated from the UC Berkeley School of Optometry where he received a solid and challenging education.

Before optometry school, he graduated with latin honors from the University of California at Los Angeles with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychobiology.

Doctor Poon completed a diverse array of externships such as La Clinica in Oakland, California State University, Sacramento Society for the Blind and the Monterey VA. At UC Berkeley, Dr. Poon completed rotations in school vision screenings, advanced contact lens clinic, binocular vision clinic, low vision clinic, and over 60’s clinic.

In addition to a rigorous academic education, Doctor Poon participated in a volunteer trip with VOSH (Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity) to San Juan Del Sur in Nicaragua to give free eye exams, distance glasses, reading glasses, bifocals, and sunglasses.Doctor Poon enjoys spending time with family and friends from church. He also enjoys reading, music, traveling, and well-made escape rooms.
